He was a wonderful man and led us in the early days of Fondacio so very well. He had a great sense of humour, took lots of small friendly jibes about his ‘shortcomings ‘ as an organiser so graciously after the many times he got us lost in Paris or we missed the boat/ bus/ train due to his forgetting something and having to go back.....and had great depths to his personality. He was a passionate man expressed in a very English way...so endearing to this italian personality who would let rip..he taught me how to say it...gradually. I wrote to him shortly after he left NCC as our leader to thank him for his dogged adherence to the identity of NCC which helped enormously to establish the Community of formation here in England. Without him all those marvellous graces that God had in mind for each one of us on that great interior adventure have been at least watered down or even lost to us. Thank you Len. I have, like you, the assurance that he now stands in the Presence of the One he Loved most hearing the words spoken to him by Our Saviour...’Well done...good and faithful servant....come and receive your reward.’
